I built PV Yield, a free calculator for early-stage solar project economics.
It estimates:
- payback period
- first-year generation and revenue
- IRR, NPV, and LCOE
- self-use/export revenue split
- monthly production
- loss, degradation, and sensitivity assumptions
Why I built it:
Many quick solar calculators hide assumptions, while spreadsheet models are too slow for first-pass quote checks. PV Yield keeps assumptions visible so users can replace defaults with real system cost, tariff, export tariff, self-consumption, discount rate, and maintenance numbers.
It is not bank-grade financial advice. It is meant for screening ideas and comparing quotes before deeper engineering, tax, or utility review.
Feedback welcome, especially on:
- which assumptions should be clearer
- whether the output helps homeowners or installers
- which countries/cities need better defaults
