I used to do work on Fiver and Fivebucks, mostly in art. The thing is you need to prove yourself and show why you are not just the best option, but why your price is worth it. You basically run on-page ads for your gig, on your gig page. Also, have a website. No one cares who you host it with, just make it look good and make sure it has a domain name. For example, the entire reason I own KaiLikesLinux.io is so (if needed) can up the SEO on the page if I am open for gigs, work, or I become popular - like how I plan to update it for writing more on Dev.to, being behind Ubuntu Lumina, and also being a part-time podcast host.
In short
Thanks a lot for the advice, tips and taking the effort to write everything.
Really helpful.
Also, don't be afraid to hire people for your gig too. Of course don't buy competition and resell it, but rather buy what you don't do but need. I.e video editing, music creation, writing, voice overs, etc.
Elance back in the days.
