I got tired of paid, server-based WebP converters, so I built a free browser-based alternative.

WebP conversion is an absolute necessity for every modern website. If it is ignored, heavy JPG and PNG images will completely slow down the website and destroy its SEO rankings.

We all know WebP is important. The actual problem is that most WebP converters available online are hidden behind paywalls and offer extremely limited bulk conversions. Even worse, 90% of them force you to upload your images to remote servers, creating a massive data privacy risk. The few free tools out there usually have a terrible UX, outdated UI, and lack any modern workflow features.

I am a solo developer, and I got so frustrated with this that I built JPGtoWEBP.net to completely solve it.

Why it is a massive upgrade for your workflow:

  • Converts Inside the Browser: Zero server uploads. Everything processes locally via WebAssembly for 100% privacy and zero latency.
  • Modern, User-Friendly Interface: A completely ad-free, zero-clutter workspace.

  • Advanced Workflow Features: Includes Smart Conversion Presets, Bulk Image Resizing, and Metadata Removal built right in.

  • Zero Limits: Completely free to use with support for unlimited bulk conversions.

  • Built for Developers: Features a flawless UX with native Light and Dark Mode integration.

I built this to solve my own headaches, but it is completely free for anyone to use. Try to break it and let me know what you think!
