How I Make $500 per Article Writing Technical Content

After having worked in technical writing for some years, I decided to try my hand at writing blog articles.

Writing articles for a company's blog is different than creating step-by-step instructions for manuals, but it's nonetheless a lot of fun to watch one's efforts produce real, tangible gains for a company in terms of organic traffic and the attention this generates.

I've freelanced at a number of places, but one that I want to tell you about is Grow and Convert.

Their main clientele is SaaS companies, although occasionally they work with other organizations, like open source developer libraries that want to grow contributors through published technical articles.

If you're a developer or technical writer, and would like a side income freelancing for one of the top content marketing firms in the industry, I'd encourage you to have a look at their (evergreen) jobs page.

There's a test and they hire based on writing ability, not prior experience, so there's no résumé to send.

If you're considering applying, I'd have a look at some of their articles that explain how they drive conversions. This will give you a sense of their unique way of copywriting.

At the very least, their social media accounts (YouTube and LinkedIn, among others) are worth following and teach a lot about how content marketing works, both as a discipline and a business.

They also offer a course for those interested in gaining those skills.

If you apply, don't forget to indicate you heard about this on Dev.to.
