Amazon has launched the Alexa Tablet Pro 12, a 12-inch Android device powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8400 chipset.
The tablet features a 120Hz display with an optional anti-glare finish, a fingerprint sensor for authentication, and a full Android environment with Google Play Store access.
With 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, it offers a hardware-focused look at Amazon's current direction for its premium tablet lineup.
Screen and appearance
The standout feature of the device is its 12-inch display, which offers a resolution of 2.800 x 1.840 and a refresh rate of 120Hz for smooth motion. Amazon offers an optional “nanomatte” screen finish, which is designed to reduce light reflections. The tablet’s body is made of aluminum, is 6,5mm thick, and weighs about 550 grams.
Specifications
The tablet is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8400 processor. The test model includes 8GB of memory and 128GB of storage. For data security, it has a built-in fingerprint sensor to unlock the device. Although it does not have a dedicated headphone jack, it does include a USB-C port for connecting accessories or charging.
Accessories and use
Amazon bundles the device with optional accessories, such as the Pro Keyboard, which costs $150, and the Pro Pen, which is available for $90. The company says the tablet's battery can support up to 16 hours of continuous video playback.
