Apple's newly announced touch-screen MacBook Pros introduce PROLED XDR tandem OLED displays with dual light-emitting layers, offering up to 2,000 nits peak SDR brightness and variable refresh down to 10Hz.
Running on M5 Pro and M5 Max chips, the laptops feature macOS touch-to-click translation, Dynamic Island integration, and up to 24 hours of battery life.
The new laptops feature a PROLED XDR display, which uses two layers of backlighting for better colors and contrast. The display reaches up to 2.000 nits in brightness, has a special anti-reflective coating, and can adjust the refresh rate from 10Hz to 120Hz to save power.
The touchscreen allows users to perform gestures such as swiping, pinching, and double-tapping to manipulate applications, web pages, and 3D models. The system automatically converts touch gestures into clicks for many existing programs.
At the top of the screen, Apple removed the classic notch and added the Dynamic Island system, a moving notification around the camera. It also brought back the illuminated logo on the back of the lid.
