Artificial intelligence at work: Increases speed but not necessarily quality

A recent study by Miro examines the impact of AI on workplace dynamics in the UK.

While 86% of respondents report increased productivity, only 57% see improved work quality.

With 71% of users interacting with AI tools individually, the findings explore the risks of tool fragmentation and professional isolation.

The report advocates for integrating AI into shared platforms to foster better collaboration and information sharing among teams.

Productivity beats quality

According to Miro’s research, 86% of workers say that using AI helps them complete tasks faster. However, only 57% believe that there has been a real improvement in the quality of the output they produce.

The solitary use of tools

The problem lies in the way employees use this technology. 71% of users utilize AI tools completely individually, without sharing their work with their colleagues.

This isolated use affects relationships within groups:

  • 28% of respondents feel more disconnected from their colleagues.
  • 18% say their work has become more solitary.

The need for better cooperation

The research points out that using multiple, disparate tools prevents the team from having a common vision for their designs. To fix this, Miro suggests that companies consolidate their scattered tools onto common platforms.
