Bill Gates: We must keep education and health humane

Bill Gates is advocating for policy-driven 'human-only' work sectors to preserve jobs in areas like healthcare and education against the rise of AI.

As global labor market projections indicate significant displacement, Gates is calling for structural discussions on taxing AI and robotics, while his foundation invests 1 billion dollars to broaden access to these emerging technologies.

According to the Microsoft founder, the speed at which artificial intelligence systems are being developed creates strong incentives for companies to replace human resources with automation. Gates stressed that although the idea of limiting the use of technology in certain areas may seem strange today, society needs to open a dialogue at the political level. The two axes of this discussion should, according to him, be the possible taxation of the use of robotics and artificial intelligence, as well as the definition of activities that are considered to remain strictly human-centric.

The importance of these questions is highlighted by predictions about the future of the job market. Goldman Sachs estimates that the wider adoption of artificial intelligence could affect 6-7% of the US workforce, or about 15 million people, over the next decade.

Despite the need for protective measures, the development of the technology remains a focus of interest. The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has committed $1 billion over the next two years to broaden access to the capabilities of artificial intelligence.
