Google is expanding its Personal Intelligence features by integrating Gemini with Chrome to power advanced autofill using data from Gmail.
The update enables Chrome to suggest details like addresses, payment information, and tracking numbers for US users on desktop, iOS, and Android, with user-controlled settings and encryption.
The browser can now read a user's Gmail messages and automatically find information to fill in where needed. This information includes flight numbers, membership codes, shipment tracking information, addresses, phone numbers, and bank card numbers.
The new feature is an extension of a Google service that connects its apps with its digital assistant.
Who is in control?
Users can freely choose whether to enable the feature through Chrome's settings. Google says that sensitive data is protected with encryption.
