The Browser Company is sunsetting the Arc browser on December 22, migrating user data automatically to its new AI-focused browser, Dia.
Developers and users will see automated transfers for bookmarks, history, passwords, and extensions into an environment built around optional AI features.
What changes for users
Those who have been using Arc until now will no longer be able to access their accounts after December 22. The company says that the transition to the new application will be automatic, transferring bookmarks, add-ons, passwords and browsing history.
The capabilities of the new browser
The new Dia app, originally announced in 2025, is powered by artificial intelligence. It features a digital assistant that can understand what's happening in multiple open tabs at once, summarize emails and videos, and even create a morning update by combining data from your calendar, messages, and web links.
For those hesitant about artificial intelligence, the company clarifies that additional related features in the new browser are optional.
