October SEC filings highlight major VC funding rounds, including a $1.252B debut AI fund called Diffusion ONE by former Benchmark VCs, alongside new capital vehicles from Trust Ventures, 8VC, and Benchmark.
The new Diffusion ONE fund
Victor Lazarte and Kris Fredrickson, two former Benchmark executives, have raised $1,252 billion for their new AI fund called Diffusion ONE. The fund has already co-led Harvey’s $550 million round and invested in Etched’s $300 million round.
New funds from well-known names
Benchmark has filed for four new funds exclusively for its partners, totaling more than $360 million, with Jack Altman named in each filing. Meanwhile, Joe Lonsdale’s 8VC is moving forward with new investment vehicles, including a $400 million fund, smaller funds of $30,35 million and $20,35 million, respectively, and an artificial intelligence fund.
At the same pace, Trust Ventures filed to raise $400 million for its fifth fund, led by founder Salen Churi, while Interlagos Capital is moving to create a $400 million fund. At the same time, Notable Capital and Greenoaks filed for new funds, while Anthropic prepares for its IPO.
Activity in secondary market funds
Increased activity is also being recorded in other sectors, as Industry Ventures raised at least $1,7 billion for its second fund, which involves buying shares from investors.
