Grok has published the first seven minutes of an Odyssey-based film project titled Odyssey, created in partnership with Wonder Studios and director Dev Walker, showcasing the latest outputs in AI video generation tools.
The announcement comes three months after Elon Musk said Grok would release a full, historically accurate film version of the work. Musk had previously criticized Christopher Nolan's film version of The Odyssey because of the cast.
Nolan's version was released in July, was a commercial success, and was based on real-life footage shot in six countries. Grok's version, by contrast, features a British voiceover and characters with distinct physical characteristics, but critics say the video lacks artistic inspiration, flow, and interest.
