Meta has released Style Sketch, an AI-powered fashion application that integrates with Instagram to curate virtual closets from user photo archives.
The app offers outfit suggestions and virtual try-ons using customized models, highlighting Meta's ongoing rollout of AI-driven consumer tools.
The app can connect with Instagram to automatically build a digital wardrobe based on photos users have already posted. Those who wish can also add clothes manually, by taking photos, videos or uploading images from their device.
How tests and combinations work
Style Sketch suggests clothes and lets users try them on virtually. The app uses a realistic model that adapts to each user's body type and skin tone.
Additionally, the app allows you to select a specific item of clothing to get suggestions on how to pair it. It also has a feature that plans what clothes someone will need on a trip, taking into account the destination, duration, activities, and weather.
Availability and next steps
The app's existence was first revealed by social media expert Matt Navarre. Style Sketch is available on iOS and Android devices, but only in Indonesia, Singapore and Thailand. Meta did not respond to questions about whether it plans to make the app available in other countries.
