Meta's Muse AI application has recorded 10 million U.S. downloads in 40 days, a milestone hit by only 11 apps in history.
With a 23% retention rate after two weeks compared to a 16% industry average, the app is demonstrating notable engagement metrics in the AI space.
Currently available only in the U.S. and Canada, the platform saw 2.5 million daily active users on October 16.
The popularity of Muse
The app's success is particularly strong when compared to other similar services. For example, ChatGPT had 3,7 million downloads in the US during the same period. Muse has been at the top of the US App Store for most days since its launch, and on October 16, it recorded 2,5 million active users in a single day.
Why users come back
Beyond initial downloads, Muse manages to maintain user engagement at a satisfactory level. 23% of users continue to use the app after 14 days. The corresponding rate for other competing AI apps is limited to 16%.
Meta's strategy
Meta has invested heavily in promoting Muse. In October, 39% of the company's total advertising budget was allocated to promoting the app.
