Minecraft ran inside GTA V on iPhone

Student developer C22 has ported Minecraft to run inside a version of GTA V for iOS, utilizing code generated and verified by Claude Opus 5.5.

The application runs natively, supports multiplayer, and achieves 50-60 FPS on an iPhone 17.

This project demonstrates significant progress in adapting web-based games for high-performance local mobile execution, requiring iOS 15 or macOS 14 and recommending 8GB of RAM for optimal resource management.

How the app was created

The basis for this result is a version of GTA V for iPhone, created by student C22 from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology EPFL. The creator ported the game from the web browser, where it originally ran, to an application that runs directly on the phone (natively). The application even supports multiplayer.

Requirements and performance

To play, you need a device with iOS 15 or later, or a Mac computer with an Apple processor and macOS 14 or later. It is also recommended that the device have at least 8GB of RAM.

According to the published data, the application is quite light, using about 1,1GB of memory. On an iPhone 17, the game's performance reaches 50 to 60 frames per second.
