The Wine Project released Wine 11.21, bringing OpenGL performance improvements in WoW64 mode via map_buffer_client_pointer support and an initial Voice Capture DSP library implementation.
Developers will also find key bug fixes addressing digital signature verification in crypt32, memory handling, and various application compatibility issues.
Improvements in graphics and functions
The new version improves graphics performance when using a specific operating method, adds the first steps to support a library that handles voice audio, and improves support for Windows user accounts.
Game fixes
Several changes concern known games that were experiencing problems:
- 2011's Skyrim received a fix for a crash caused by motion data.
- The special edition of Skyrim was fixed for a control error.
- BioShock 2 Remastered will no longer stop working when users change display settings.
- Fate/stay night REMASTERED has a solution for the black screen issue.
- Tron 2.0 and No One Lives Forever 2 got their music back.
- World of Tanks has been fixed so that there are no typing issues in the chat window.
Fixes for programs and systems
In addition to games, the update fixes a digital signature verification issue that prevented a popular audio editor from starting. It also fixes a crash in a computer benchmark program, a rounding error in decimal calculations, and an issue where network messages were truncated if they were too long.
