Shelly 3.1.10 for Arch Linux introduces pre-prepare dependency planning for AUR builds, metadata parsing without downloading sources, improved RLPM error reporting, and Zig 0.17 migration.
Better package and update management
The new version improves the way the program handles packages from the user community. It now detects and installs the necessary add-ons before the preparation stage. This is true even when a package depends on others that are also in the community, as the design reads the necessary components without downloading files, performing operations, or modifying the basic installation recipe.
In addition, compatibility issues have been fixed in package recipes, including cleaned up table item handling. Multi-line descriptions are now automatically fixed during data generation, and web downloads can now handle larger response headers.
In the area of upgrades, the system update command now combines renewals and requested warehouse programs into a single process.
Clearer error messages and new options
Shelly 3.1.10 improves error reporting, providing more detailed explanations for configuration issues, database locks, download failures, file errors, package conflicts, and failed processes. Additionally, messages for conflicting files can pinpoint exactly where and which packages are affected.

In appearance, a new progress bar style with an animation has been added, which becomes the default for installations that do not have another style defined. A new option also allows package names to be displayed separately when the user searches or views program lists. Command autocompletions for popular command environments now communicate directly with Shelly instead of another tool.
Accessibility improvements and technical changes
The GUI application now has improved accessibility for keyboard-only navigation and screen reader use. The initial setup wizard correctly moves focus to new pages, and the packages tab distinguishes repository programs from external and locally installed packages.
Finally, the internals and build system have been updated to require the latest version of the Zig language for compiling from source. The new release also adds special support for CachyOS and fixes Devario builds to not download or display Arch Linux news during updates.
