Omarchy 4.0.5 arrives with Linux kernel 7.2.8, the BORE scheduler, and an October Arch package refresh featuring Qt 6.12.

The update brings the Linux kernel 7.2.8 and incorporates a special resource management mechanism that improves the responsiveness of the computer during daily use. At the same time, the software packages have been updated based on the October state, including the Qt package at version 6.12. This change fixes compatibility issues that affected colors, bars and additional desktop elements.
Significant improvements were also made to the responsiveness of the taskbar and browsers, while system updates are now completed faster by skipping unnecessary security key renewals.
Hardware and application improvements
The new release resolves issues with built-in speakers on Dell XPS 13 laptops with Intel Panther Lake processors, as well as USB audio stutters affecting KEF LSX II LT speakers. It also improves environment setup on laptops with NVIDIA graphics cards, and addresses an issue that caused a black screen on startup on some systems.
In the area of applications, the Steam platform installation now selects the appropriate graphics, the EasyEffects 8 program has received fixes for managing audio devices and filters, while Windows virtual machines open normally without folder permissions problems.

For those using development tools, text transfer over remote connections has been improved, while the Hermes and OpenClaw artificial intelligence programs can now be updated automatically.
Functionality and security fixes
Other fixes include shutdown issues when closing the laptop lid, security rules that remained active after disabling remote connections, as well as issues with the calendar in some time zones and generating QR codes for Wi-Fi.
Finally, the update removes automatic and unsafe path modifications to project folders, ensures that administrator access data is completely deleted during a factory reset, and shields utilities against dangerous command parameters.
Existing users can upgrade their system through the interface's updates menu, while new installation versions are available from the official website.
