OBS Studio 33.0 updates its embedded browser engine to CEF 150, reorganizes core and third-party plugin directories, and introduces new preview alignment controls and Arm64 encoder support.
New browsing technology and changes to add-ons
The technology used behind the scenes to display web pages and interactive elements in broadcasts was upgraded from version 127 to 150, bringing the software from July 2024 technology to September 2026 technology.
At the same time, the location where add-ons are stored has changed. Built-in add-ons are now in a separate folder, while third-party add-ons are stored in a new path. Compatibility with the old installation locations for third-party add-ons will continue temporarily, but will be permanently discontinued with the release of OBS Studio 34.0.
Tool and performance improvements
The preview has improved object alignment, as items can now be aligned along the entire axis with new visual cues. In numeric input fields, changes are only applied after pressing Enter, while users can hold Shift with the arrow keys to change values in larger increments.

Compatibility fixes and changes
For Linux users, the update fixes an issue that could cause an unexpected shutdown when disconnecting a USB microphone, as well as the phenomenon of source duplication under certain display modes.
The new release drops official support for the Ubuntu 24.04 operating system, as well as older versions of the media tools and graphical environment. OBS Studio 33.0 is available for Linux, Windows, and macOS.
