Reprint of the book Cyberselfish that blasts Silicon Valley culture

Paulina Borsook's 2000 book Cyberselfish is being reissued by Tin House with a new foreword by Gil Durán.

The book examines the historical roots of techno-libertarian culture and attitudes toward regulation within Silicon Valley.

Borsook notes that she wrote the book trying to understand the attitude of some people in the technology industry, who were strongly opposed to any rules and regulations, even though they had benefited significantly from government infrastructure and funding.

Interest in the book has recently picked up, as prices for second-hand copies have soared and discussions have increased on social media and from academics who find its content relevant. The new edition includes a new foreword by Gil Durán, while the original 2000 text remains exactly as it was, without changes.
