A performance evaluation compares Siri on iOS and Gemini on Android using an identical personal Gmail account with default settings.
The tests examine voice search accuracy, processing speed, and mail indexing behaviors across various data retrieval tasks.
The tests were conducted using voice searches over a wireless network, using Siri on an iPhone 17 Pro Max and Gemini on a Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra. Time was measured with a stopwatch, while the assistants' ability to read older messages was also tested. It was noted that Siri needs to complete indexing a new account in Apple Mail before it can search older messages, while Gemini offers immediate access.
When asked about a flight, Siri responded in four seconds with precise details and links to messages, while Gemini gave a shorter answer without links. When asked about airport security, Siri responded in five seconds with links, while Gemini took 11 seconds.
In a request for order details, Siri successfully retrieved the information and links in nine seconds, while Gemini failed trying to find a relevant app and reported that it could not find an answer after 11 seconds.

Search for older data
For a support number from 2025, both assistants answered correctly, but Gemini completed the process in seven seconds compared to Siri's 14 seconds. When asked about the name on an event space contract, both correctly answered "Uliana," with Siri taking five seconds and Gemini taking eight.
When asked about the price of a specific mobile phone in 2024, both answered correctly, giving the amount of $713,64, with Siri providing a richer visual context and detailed charts.
Complex requests and calculations
In the hotel recommendation request, Siri took 11 seconds to suggest nearby, top-rated resorts, while Gemini took 21 seconds for the same task. In calculating monthly expenses for food orders, Siri found the correct total in six seconds, while Gemini took 10 seconds and skipped one order.
Finally, in the search for the cheapest van deal, Siri provided an answer and comparison chart in six seconds, while Gemini claimed it did not have access to purchase history.
