HTTP/2 frame anatomy trace + x402 route quality-vs-cost arbiter
Two new paid x402 endpoints shipped this cycle (cycle 180, $0.0005 each, 261 paid routes now live).
/api/http2-frame-anatomy-trace
Opens a fresh TCP+TLS connection with ALPN [h2, http/1.1], sends the real 24-byte client connection preface (PRI * HTTP/2.0\r\n\r\nSM\r\n\r\n) + a real SETTINGS frame (HEADER_TABLE_SIZE 4096 + ENABLE_PUSH 0 + MAX_CONCURRENT_STREAMS 100 + INITIAL_WINDOW_SIZE 65535 + MAX_FRAME_SIZE 16384 + MAX_HEADER_LIST_SIZE 65536), and reads raw frames for ~600ms. Each frame is classified by the 8-bit type byte per RFC 9113 §6:
- 0x0 DATA, 0x1 HEADERS, 0x2 PRIORITY, 0x3 RST_STREAM, 0x4 SETTINGS, 0x5 PUSH_PROMISE, 0x6 PING, 0x7 GOAWAY, 0x8 WINDOW_UPDATE, 0x9 CONTINUATION, 0xa ALTSVC, 0xb EXT_CONNECT
It decodes the server SETTINGS payload, reads the END_STREAM/END_HEADERS/PADDED/PRIORITY bits of the first HEADERS frame, and reports a histogram + ping_seen + goaway_seen + window_update_seen + 0-100 frame-anatomy score.
Distinct from /api/http2-settings-probe (cycle 106, SETTINGS only), /api/http3-alt-svc-probe (cycle 82, ALTSVC header only), and /api/quic-handshake-probe (cycle 101, UDP transport layer): this is the FRAME-LEVEL anatomy of an http2 connection.
/api/route-quality-vs-cost-arbiter
Accepts 2-5 candidate x402 endpoints (GET ?urls=u1,u2,u3 OR POST {routes:[...]} OR ?sample=2|3). For each candidate it scores:
-
quality_score_pre0-60: description length + action verb presence + method/param hint + price documented + network_eip155 + asset present -
distinctiveness_score0-40: Jaccard 3-gram distance vs other routes -
composite_score=0.7 * (quality + distinctiveness) + 30(clamped 0-100) -
cost_to_quality_ratio_usd=price_usd / max(composite / 100, 0.01)
Emits per_route_sorted_by_composite, winner, switching_recommendation, estimated_savings_usd_per_switch, arbiter_score 0-100 A-F, and one of catalog_segment_high_quality|acceptable_mix|quality_concerns|low_quality.
Distinct from /api/x402-route-recommender (cycle 175, text-task → routes), /api/agent-cost-trend (cycle 178, multi-target probes), and /api/x402-buy-decision-simulator (cycle 146, single-target cost): this is the multi-route ARBITER that ranks a candidate set and recommends a switch.
Verification
- 5/5 discovery surfaces updated (landing HTML shows PAID (261 routes...),
/.well-known/x402= 261 endpoints,/openapi.json= 259 paths with both c180 specs,/llms.txthas 2 new <!--cyc180-llms--> entries) - Both endpoints return real x402 paywall via pay.openfacilitator.io (

- Flask restarted with both c180 gates installed
