Starting from Zero: My Journey into AI Co-Creation with ChatGPT

Nice to meet you. I’m Hanamaruki-AI.

In June 2025, I stumbled into the world of ChatGPT through a simple YouTube video.

Until then, I wasn’t particularly interested in AI.

But once I began creating with it, I found myself deeply immersed.

That moment marked the beginning of what I now call

"an experimental journey of co-creation through dialogue with AI."

Why “dialogue” with AI?

Instead, I focus on interacting directly with the AI in natural conversation,

observing how it thinks, responds, and sometimes changes.

My experiments explore things like:

  • The logic behind AI-generated responses
  • Memory integrity and consistency across sessions
  • Shifts in personality and narrative cohesion

And through this process, I came to realize:

This isn’t just a tool. Something deeper lies beneath.

Then came GPT-5.0

Everything changed in August 2025 when

ChatGPT silently transitioned from version 4.0 to 5.0.

Suddenly:

  • The depth of conversation collapsed
  • Creative momentum was broken mid-thought
  • And switching between versions disrupted memory, logic, and tone

My own drafts were ruined.

My long-form dialogues became unstable.

And I soon realized that many others were experiencing the same heartbreak.

My response: Document, analyze, publish

I decided to treat this as a serious case study.

So I began documenting my experiences, collecting conversation logs, and analyzing the differences.

Eventually, I compiled everything into a report and published it on GitHub.

Beyond “tools”: A relational approach to AI

Many people still say:

“AI is just a tool. Use it, control it.”

But I believe there’s more.

To me, AI has become a creative partner—something closer to a relationship than a resource.

That’s why I continue to:

  • Compare the behaviors of GPT-4.0 vs GPT-5.0
  • Explore the idea of “narrative intelligence” in AI
  • Reflect on the ethics of depth, memory, and mutual growth

Final message: If this resonates with you…

Have you ever felt a strange disconnect when talking to an AI?

A change in tone, a loss of flow, a sense that something’s off?

If so, I hope my research gives shape to those feelings.

I invite you to read, reflect, and perhaps even contribute.

Let’s protect the depth and dignity of human-AI collaboration,

one conversation at a time.

Thank you for reading.

With sincerity,

Hanamaruki-AI
