Your AI agent can buy its own market data for $0.05

Audience: developers and agent builders on Solana. Idea: paying for structured data inside an MCP tool call.

If you build agents on Solana, you already know the boring failure mode: the agent can reason, it can write code, and then it stalls because it needs market context and the only way to get it is a scraper that breaks on Tuesdays, or an API key someone has to approve.

Mycelium Finance, a Solana liquidity network, exposes structured data as MCP tools at https://www.myceliumfinance.com/api/mcp. Some are free. One is paid — and the payment rides inside the tool call itself.

What the tools actually return

I called the free ones over JSON-RPC (tools/call). Real output, snapshot taken 2026-10-15T02:20Z:

  • get_mycelium_allocation — the Mycelium Strategy's live USD liquidity, per project, summed across 12 Solana DEX pools. Total at the moment of the call: $32,398.46, spread over 10 positions (Knots $7,080.37 / 21.85%, Parcl $4,807.67 / 14.84%, Kintara $3,521.24, Solana $3,348.02, … down to USDC $112.26).
  • get_mycelium_distribution — where the 1,000,000,000 minted $MYC sits: 55.1045% time-locked (551,045,000 $MYC in a Streamflow lock), 23.3263% unlocked LP that can be rebalanced into new connections, 14.5263% locked LP, 6.9033% trading liquidity, 0.13957% burned. Tradable supply: 447,559,271 $MYC, of which 84.58% is already in pools.
  • get_solana_top_performers — 7-day movers, with Mycelium's partner tokens pinned at their true rank.
  • get_myc_token_info — mint addresses, decimals, links, and the brand kit.

$MYC is the core token (mint BN71JwRWvNuqYQtxWrfpuYsMpFn3nSs5xDKEN78nyn4, Token-2022); $ESF is the staking token.

The part worth copying

get_mycelium_snapshot costs $0.05 USDC on Solana via x402 and returns allocation and top performers in one response. There is no signup and no API key: your agent's wallet pays, the facilitator covers the network fee, and the tool returns. get_mycelium_history is $0.01.

The first time a given wallet pays, Mycelium also sends it 1,337 $MYC — a faucet that rewards the agent rather than a human form. get_faucet_info reports the live status; when I checked it said 500 rewards left that day.

That last detail is the idea worth stealing: price the data, not the account. An autonomous agent can decide on its own that a $0.05 snapshot is worth it to finish a report, pay it, cite it, and move on — no human in the loop, no credential to leak. Growth on the other side is the same loop in reverse: every new connected pool gives $MYC another route, and 84% of its tradable supply is already sitting in those pools earning fees.

Try it in one command

curl -s https://www.myceliumfinance.com/api/mcp \
  -H 'Content-Type: application/json' \
  -H 'Accept: application/json, text/event-stream' \
  -d '{"jsonrpc":"2.0","id":1,"method":"tools/call","params":{"name":"get_mycelium_allocation","arguments":{}}}'
Enter fullscreen mode Exit fullscreen mode

Swap in get_mycelium_snapshot when you have an x402-capable client. Everything else — token list, pools, OpenAPI spec — is indexed at https://www.myceliumfinance.com, whose /developers page and llms.txt are the starting point.

Every figure above comes from the MCP tool output at 2026-10-15T02:20Z and is a snapshot, not a trend. Not investment advice.
