How I Passed the GenAI Leader Certification: My Learning Journey, Resources & Tips

Generative AI is everywhere right now, and like many others, I wanted to understand it beyond just surface-level knowledge.
Recently, I got the opportunity to attend the Google Launchpad for Women — International Women’s Day Edition (APAC), and honestly, it became a turning point in my learning journey.

What made it even more exciting? I received a voucher for the GenAI Leader Certification Exam — and I’m happy to share that I passed it! 🎉
In this article, I want to walk through my preparation journey, the resources I used, and what actually helped me succeed.

🌱 How It Started

The Launchpad program was my first structured exposure to Generative AI. The sessions were beginner-friendly but still covered practical and real-world applications.

📚 What I Studied (My Learning Resources)

To prepare for the exam, I kept things simple and focused on two main resources:

1. Main Course (Concept Building)
This was my primary resource to revise and strengthen my understanding of GenAI concepts:

This course helped me with:

  • Understanding core Generative AI concepts
  • Learning real-world use cases
  • Getting clarity on responsible AI

I didn’t try to consume too many resources — just focused on understanding this one properly.

2. Mock Tests (Practice is Key)

Once I was comfortable with the concepts, I started practicing mock tests.

These mock tests were super helpful because:

  • They showed me what I didn’t know
  • Helped me get used to the question format
  • Improved my confidence before the actual exam If I had to recommend one thing — don’t skip mock tests!

🎯 My Exam Experience

Before the exam, I was a bit nervous (which is normal), but the preparation really helped. The questions were mostly concept-based, so if your fundamentals are clear, you’ll be able to handle them.

And yes — seeing the “pass” result felt amazing! 😄

🚀 Final Thoughts

If you’re planning to take the GenAI Leader exam, I hope this helps you get started.
And if you’ve already started your journey — keep going, you’re closer than you think.
