Recent Updates to AI Coding Tools
I have updated WhichAICoder with several notable changes across popular AI coding assistants. These updates affect features, pricing models, and available options for developers and builders.
GitHub Copilot and OpenAI Codex
GitHub Copilot received an updated model pool along with a new HydraFusion Max option in a research preview available in VS Code, the Copilot app, and the Copilot CLI. Additionally, Copilot plans are now structured as Free, Pro at $10, Pro+ at $39, and Max, metered via GitHub AI Credits. Meanwhile, OpenAI retired GPT-5.5 from ChatGPT and Codex, though API-key Codex sessions remain unaffected.
Lovable and Cursor
Lovable introduced growth tools featuring goal-based growth plans alongside Google, YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram ads that can be launched directly from Lovable with no extra Lovable fee, while ad spend is billed directly by Google or Meta. Cursor's pricing page now reflects plans bundled with Grok and X, while legacy Pro, Pro+, and Ultra tiers continue for existing subscribers who choose not to switch.
Bolt.new Pricing Check
I checked Bolt.new pricing on October 20, 2026. The free tier offers one million tokens per month. The Pro plan costs $25 per month when billed monthly or $18 per month when billed annually at $216 per year. The Teams tier is $30 per member per month monthly or $27 per member per month billed annually ($324 per year), with enterprise custom options available.
