Hi Friends,
Over the years, I've spent countless hours searching for the right development tools. While there are thousands of excellent free tools for AI, databases, DevOps, cloud, testing, security, and productivity, discovering them usually means jumping between GitHub repositories, blog posts, Reddit threads, Product Hunt, and search results.
I built StackZero to make that process simpler.
The idea is straightforward: create a single place where developers can discover, compare, and explore free development tools organized by category. Instead of maintaining another "awesome list," I'm working toward a searchable platform that continuously expands as new tools emerge.
Current focus:
Hundreds of free developer tools
Organized by category
Search and filtering
Community-driven rankings
Regularly updated listings
This is still an early version, and I'd really appreciate feedback from the HN community.
Questions I'm trying to answer:
What information do you look for before choosing a tool?
What ranking criteria would you trust?
Which categories are missing?
What would make you bookmark and use this regularly?

I'm building this because I ran into this problem myself, and I'd love to hear your thoughts—both positive and critical. Every suggestion helps shape the next version.
