I Built a Free Social Media Content Calendar (Because Later Charges $12/Month for 30 Posts)

Last month I was helping a friend plan her Instagram content. She wanted to schedule posts for her bakery — about 15-20 per month. I opened Later's free plan and saw the wall: 30 posts per month, and she'd hit it by week two.

I closed the tab. Opened a text editor. Built something better that afternoon.

The Problem

Tools like Later, Buffer, and Hootsuite follow the same playbook:

Let you plan a few posts for free (engaging, builds the habit)
Show you a polished content calendar (adds to the lock-in)
Demand $12-20/month to go beyond 30 posts (the trap)
