Applied AI Engineers must decide when to impute, when to discard, and when to escalate. Statistical techniques like winsorization or domain-specific heuristics are often more practical than elegant deep learning solutions. Applied AI Engineers don’t work in isolation. They sit between researchers, data engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders.
