Day 29 / 100 Days of Code: Reflections and Realizations

Mon, July 29, 2024

One point about the 100 Days of Code challenge is that there’s no weekend break. While this isn’t an issue from a work perspective, I’m used to using weekends to recharge and regroup, as business is always evolving. During my review and reflection earlier today, I realized the importance of starting each day by practicing material from the previous day. This method, known as spaced repetition, helps reinforce learning better than cramming.

Having most of the course content in the Codecademy browser environment means I have little code in my GitHub repo to practice with. To address this, I plan to start each day by practicing coding by generating material from the previous day’s assignment. This is my first major learning hack with Codecademy.

Today, I reviewed my code, went for a run, and attended an Arizona Diamondbacks game with my mentor. We scored 5 runs in the 9th inning for a walk-off win, which was amazing! The new lighting system effects when a home run is scored were a great addition.
