Every browse-and-filter interface was a workaround, not a feature.
Users were never asking for infinite scroll. They were asking for the thing they wanted. We gave them raw data and filters because the system couldn't understand the request; it could only display rows and let the user run their own query, manually, with their thumb.
That workaround is over.
Users already know what they want. They don't want to browse fifty options ranked by relevance score. They want the three that actually fit. AI models can finally take a real request and return a real answer, instead of a dataset dressed up as a decision.
The products that win next will stop asking users to do the filtering themselves. They'll do it for them and only show up when the match is right.
Infinite scroll wasn't a design choice. It was a limitation we mistook for a feature.
Time to build like the limitation is gone.
