Foglight's 3,160 title matches need owner and version confirmation
A ZoomEye query for app="Quest Foglight" returned zero on November 4, 2026. A title query for Foglight returned 3,160.
The count is not a vulnerability population. It is a public title signal for a database monitoring product. Foglight is often deployed on internal management networks, behind a VPN, or under a customer-specific hostname. The public index may see a small slice of the product while an organization runs dozens of internal instances.
Observation
| Query | Matches |
|---|---|
app="Quest Foglight" |

title="Foglight" |

The app query completed at 2026-11-04T23:44:56Z and the title query at 2026-11-04T23:44:58Z. Both were successful, with page 1, page size 1, and sub_type=all. The zero fingerprint result is not evidence that Foglight is absent.
The vulnerability context
ZDI published CVE-2026-92188 as an unauthenticated remote code execution flaw involving ForgeMBeanServerSupport. The public record describes the vulnerability as missing authentication for a critical function. The affected installation and fixed release should be confirmed through Quest's advisory and support channels.
The external count cannot tell whether a title belongs to a Foglight server, a dashboard, a marketing page, or a customer portal. It also cannot show whether the management protocol is reachable, which account the service uses, or whether a database credential is stored.
Turn titles into an owner list
Resolve each observed title to a domain, certificate, organization, and network owner. Use only authorized data. Do not probe a third-party host merely because it appears in a public search result.
For internal inventory, search CMDB records, database monitoring documentation, and service accounts named after Foglight. Include collectors, federation servers, and temporary migration systems. Record the exact version and patch history.
Map every database connection the monitoring server can use. Verify that the account is read-only where possible and that it cannot create users, alter schemas, or read unrelated data. The monitoring plane should not become a privileged database gateway.
Patch and verify
Apply the fixed release and verify the build. Test unauthenticated access from a network that should be denied and confirm that it fails. Then test a legitimate collection job to ensure that the patch preserves monitoring behavior.
Review logs for unexpected management operations, database connection changes, and new collection jobs. A monitoring product can be a high-value source of infrastructure detail even when it does not hold business data.
The 3,160 titles are a reminder that public product names are not ownership records. The release and configuration answers must come from the organization that runs the service.
