Uptime Guard — API monitoring that doesn't break the budget.

The Problem

Developers monitoring APIs are caught between two extremes: enterprise tools like Datadog and New Relic that cost $50–500+ per month, or open-source solutions with restrictive licenses that can't legally be used for commercial projects. Indie builders and small teams get priced out before they even start.

What We're Building

Uptime Guard is a lightweight SaaS that monitors your API endpoints with configurable check intervals, logs latency and status codes, and sends alerts to Slack or email—starting at just $15/month. We include a free CLI for local monitoring and keep the dashboard simple enough that you don't need a devops engineer to understand what's breaking.

Who It's For

Indie developers and engineering leads at SMBs (10–50 person teams) building commercial software who need to monitor 10–50 API endpoints without enterprise contracts.

Key Features

  • Configurable check intervals (5 min to 1 min based on plan) with status code + latency logging
  • Slack & email alerts + webhook support for custom integrations
  • 30–90 day history and simple React dashboard to see what broke

We're validating this concept. How many API endpoints are you currently monitoring, and what would you actually pay per month for simple, reliable alerts?
