I’m an independent builder, and I recently built LexisAi, an AI writing assistant designed to make everyday writing easier.
The idea started pretty simply:
What if you could paste messy text, explain what you want, and get a cleaner version without having to figure out the perfect prompt?
So I built it.
What can LexisAi do?
LexisAi can help you:
- Rewrite text
- Improve grammar and clarity
- Summarize content
- Shorten or expand text
- Change the tone and format
- Write professional messages and emails
- Turn rough ideas into clearer writing
It can be useful for students, job seekers, creators, professionals, or anyone who writes regularly.
Building it
One of the interesting parts of building LexisAi was turning a simple AI text-generation idea into an actual product.
I worked on things like:
- AI generation workflows
- Usage limits
- User history
- Feedback
- PWA functionality
- Document/workspace features
- Subscription and payment handling
- Server-side verification
- Protecting API keys and sensitive operations
There were definitely a few moments where something broke and I had to go back and figure out what was happening 😂
But that's also what made the project fun to build.
