Be honest... how many subscriptions do you think you have vs. how many do you actually have?

We launched SubCenter.io in 2025—just the two of us, a husband-and-wife team of software engineers—because we were tired of getting hit with unexpected subscription charges. Too often, we’d only realize we were still paying for something when a forgotten charge popped up on our credit card statement. Even big-name services rarely sent reminders before billing us. And they still don’t!

How We Built SubCenter.io

We started working on SubCenter.io as a side project four months ago, and we officially launched it one month ago. It’s still our side hustle, and we continue to improve it while balancing our full-time jobs. Every week, we refine features, squash bugs, and add new functionality to make it even more useful.

From a technical perspective, we built SubCenter.io using:

  • Ruby on Rails 8 – Our framework of choice for its productivity and simplicity.
  • Kamal – For seamless deployment and server orchestration.
  • PostgreSQL – A solid, reliable database to handle subscription data efficiently.

What SubCenter.io Does

When we searched for a solution, everything we found was either too complicated, too intrusive, too expensive—or all of the above. We wanted something simple and hassle-free, designed for everyday users who just want to keep track of their subscriptions. So we built SubCenter.io—a clean, affordable, and effective way to track, manage, and optimize subscriptions.

Features That Make Subscription Tracking Easy

Here’s what SubCenter.io offers:

Passwordless Login – Use your email or social accounts to log in, no passwords needed.

Custom Trial Reminders – Get notified before free trials turn into paid plans.

Add by Email – Just forward any subscription email to our mailbox, and we’ll add it for you in 60 seconds.

Weekly/Monthly Summaries – See all upcoming payments at a glance.

Secondary Email Support – Manage subscriptions from multiple email accounts in one place.

Household Spending (PRO) – Share a subscription view with your partner for better financial control.

Multi-Currency Support (PRO) – Add subscriptions in any currency, and we’ll auto-convert them to your primary one.

Privacy & Security First – No ads, no spam, no data selling—just a secure way to track your expenses.

Unlimited Entries (PRO) – Track as many subscriptions as you need—no limits.

Subscription Categories (PRO) – Organize subscriptions by category to see where your money is going.

What’s Next?

We’re continuously improving SubCenter.io, tweaking the UI, refining features, and optimizing performance. Our goal is to make subscription tracking as seamless as possible. We’d love to hear feedback from the community—what features would you like to see next?
