👋 Introduction
Hi everyone! I'm a backend engineer with 1 year of experience.
I have a strong passion for the aviation industry and aspire to contribute to the aerospace field as an engineer.
💼 Past Experience
In Japan, I worked for 6 months at an IT company, maintaining and adding features to a human resource management system.
Main responsibilities:
- Creating specifications and test documents
- Minor code fixes and bug fixes (HTML, JavaScript, SQL)
- Participating in weekly team reviews, code checks, and progress sharing using task management tools
Challenges I faced:
- I often couldn’t fully understand the “intent” behind design and implementation
- I had no experience building a service from scratch
- I lacked confidence in my technical skills
🌏 Why Canada?
- To build my engineering career on a global scale
- My dream is to work in the aerospace industry
- I want to combine English + IT skills to challenge a wider field
Why I chose Canada:
- Practical curriculum with a Co-op program
- Exposure to diverse cultures to broaden my perspective
- Opportunities to work in an English-speaking environment
📚 Current Situation
Since May 2025, I have been enrolled in the Full-Stack Web Development with Co-op program at the Canadian College of Technology & Business (CCTB).
I’m currently studying:
- HTML / CSS / JavaScript (DOM manipulation, event handling)
- Frontend: React
- Backend: Node.js, Express, Python
- Databases: MySQL, MongoDB
- Version control: Git / GitHub
- Linux basics, networking fundamentals, and DevOps tools (Docker, etc.)
🎯 Goals
Short-term (next 3 months)
- Complete up to Assignment 7 and experience the full development cycle: design → develop → test
- Write “usable” code and create products people can actually use
Mid-term (next 6 months)
- Get a junior-level engineering job in Canada and gain hands-on team experience
Long-term (next 1 year)
- Specialize in engineering for the aviation industry
- Become an independent engineer who can handle both English communication and implementation
🙌 Final Words
I’m resetting my past “somewhat aimless learning” and starting fresh toward the engineer I want to become.
Looking forward to connecting with and learning from you all here on DEV!
