DeskPort 0.7.2: clearer remote scrolling and a few useful fixes

I'm building DeskPort, a remote desktop project based on Sunshine and Moonlight. The desktop app is free and open source.

Here are a few things I've been working on recently.

Clearer scrolling over Tailscale

I adjusted the encoding strategy to reduce the blur I was seeing while scrolling through a remote desktop over Tailscale.

The device list now also has a data-saver toggle and a daily traffic setting. Reducing traffic for static screens is still ongoing work.

What's changed in 0.7.2

  • A fix for the first input not taking effect.
  • A blurred background during resolution changes.
  • Updated icons.
  • Further work on dynamic encoding parameters.

I also set up several Linux distribution environments for validation.

The full demo shows NixOS connecting to macOS, Windows and another remote NixOS machine:

A small screenshot update

Claude is still doing exactly what I point it at. 👍

The project is on GitHub. If you try it, I'd be interested to hear how it behaves in your setup.
