Though I have not used the HTMX and FastAPI before, but can we use both together for a dashboard application where each chart/graph/table is asynchronously getting created/updated through separate API calls on some form submission?

Depends on the scope and complexity of the project.
But for most PoC, side projects,Demos it should more than suffice

Not sure what do you mean by "HTMX uses [type hints] to define expected response types"... where and how do you define types in htmx? Also, the great thing about htmx is that the server can provide html fragments to avoid page reloading, it would be wonderful to see that in your example!
