I Built a 100% Client-Side PDF & Document Suite Running Purely on WASM

Most online PDF converters have one glaring privacy flaw: they require you to upload confidential files to their servers. Whether it's contracts, bank statements, or tax documents, sending raw files across the wire is a massive privacy risk.

To solve this, I built HandleMyFile — a document processing suite that runs 100% in your local browser memory.

🚀 How It Works (The Architecture)

Instead of sending payloads to a cloud API:

  1. WebAssembly (WASM): We compile high-performance C++ and Rust libraries directly into the browser runtime.
  2. Local RAM Processing: Files are loaded directly into browser ArrayBuffers. When you merge, split, or compress, your CPU does the work.
  3. Zero Network Transmission: Once the page is loaded, you can literally turn off your WiFi and continue processing files.

🛠️ Core Capabilities

  • PDF Essentials: Merge, Split, Compress, Rotate, Crop, Reorder.
  • Conversion: High-precision PDF to Word/Docx, Excel, Images, PPTX.
  • Security & Privacy: Client-side e-Signature and metadata scrubbers.
  • Accessibility: Multi-language support across 30 languages.
