Internship Tips

Hi everyone.
I am starting my first internship tomorrow at a tech company.
Do you have any tips that can help me make the most out of this internship?

Showing initiative and self confidence is quite well seen, but it's still important to show that you are able to question your work and submit it to reviews, there is a perfect middle that you have to find.
Also, if the company leaves you the choice of the tech you use (speaking about languages, libraries, or that kind of stuff), it's very good to explain your choice with a state of art, because that includes getting yourself informed with all drawbacks and benefits for each "candidate", and being able to determine which one is the best for what you have to do.

That might be obvious, but these are to me 2 major points among the others said in the other comments here.

Also good luck for your internship, all will be fine as long as you show your will to work good ;)

I have been doing two internships this summer and so far I have learned to pay attention! By learning in a real work environment has been incredibly important, something that a classroom cannot teach you. The people that you work with are very knowledgable and are experienced so form a good relationship with them, have them mentor you, and ask questions.

Still a student but had 2 internships. Even when you have your own project you should get involved with some colleagues at the start of your internship. While starting my own project I simply offered to test some websites and learned how managing projects/git workflow etc. worked in the company. Never hesitate to ask, after not finding it on a search just ask a colleague, they might have done it 100 times. Also, you probably have some school work, while it is really fun to just develop stuff you also have to get a good grade. Grades depend mostly on the reports of the work you did (in my case), so don't write these reports, project reflection and more in the last week.

Lead a team if you can, if not, be an active member of any team you are assigned to work with.

Give some tips to the person managing your team about the kind of stuff you want to learn, this might help them decide on what type of task they will assign you.
