IdeaFlow AI: Turning Scattered Ideas into Real Creative Projects with Switch 🚀

This is my submission for the Flip the Switch Hackathon 2026 – Track 02: Best Personal or Creative Workflow.

💡 What I Built

I built IdeaFlow AI, an AI-powered creative project manager that transforms simple ideas into structured, actionable projects.

Have you ever had a great idea but struggled with where to start, how to plan it, or how to turn it into something real?

That's the problem I wanted to solve.

With IdeaFlow AI, users can simply share a project idea through Discord. The AI agent understands the vision and turns it into a creative project with a roadmap, content ideas, scripts, actionable tasks, and milestones.

⚙️ How It Works

IdeaFlow AI works like a creative teammate.

Share a project idea in Discord.
The IdeaFlow AI agent receives the message through the Discord integration.
Switch Agent Protocol connects the agent through real-time events and heartbeat communication.
The agent processes the idea and generates a structured creative plan.
The project details can be viewed and organized in the IdeaFlow workspace.

For example, I can ask:

"@IdeaFlow AI I want to launch an Instagram page sharing inspiring stories of women entrepreneurs in India. Create a complete creative project plan with content ideas, a posting schedule, scripts, and actionable tasks."

IdeaFlow AI turns that idea into a practical starting plan.

🔌 How I Used Switch

I integrated Switch Agent Protocol using a custom Python-based agent built with FastAPI.

Instead of using an existing agent framework, I built the integration myself.

Platform: Discord
Agent: Custom FastAPI-based IdeaFlow AI agent
Communication: Server-Sent Events (SSE), HTTP messaging, and heartbeat monitoring
Workflow: Discord messages → Switch → IdeaFlow AI → project responses and workspace

Switch helped connect the agent to a real chat workflow, making it behave more like a teammate than a standalone chatbot.

🚀 What I Learned

Building IdeaFlow AI helped me understand how agent communication protocols can connect AI agents with real-world collaboration workflows.

One of the most interesting parts was integrating Discord with Switch and making the agent receive messages, process creative requests, and respond through the chat workflow.

I also learned a lot about debugging real-time connections, agent registration, heartbeats, and deployment.

🔮 What's Next?

I want to improve cloud deployment, expand platform integrations, and make IdeaFlow AI an even more useful creative teammate.
