🤖 100 Days of Generative AI - Day 5 - Understanding Inference Parameters in AI Models 🤖

When working with AI models, several key parameters influence the responses they generate. Let's take a look at each one:

1️⃣ Temperature controls the response's creativity. Higher values (e.g., 1.0) make it more random and creative, while lower values (e.g., 0.2) make it more focused and deterministic.

2️⃣ Top K: Limits the number of words the model considers at each step. For example, a Top K value of 50 means the model will only choose from the 50 most likely words, ensuring high-quality and relevant responses.

3️⃣ Top P: Sets a cumulative probability threshold. For instance, with the Top P set to 0.9, the model includes the most likely words until their combined probability reaches 90%, balancing diversity and relevance.

4️⃣ Response Length: Defines the maximum length of the generated response. This helps tailor the output to specific needs, whether short summaries or detailed explanations.

5️⃣ Length Penalty: This adjusts the response length by penalizing longer outputs, encouraging concise responses, or extending them when necessary. A higher penalty discourages lengthy answers.

6️⃣ Stop Sequence: Specifies when the model should stop generating text. This is useful for controlling the end of the response, such as stopping after a complete sentence or specific phrase.

7️⃣ Repetition Penalty: Reduces repeated phrases by penalizing the likelihood of previously used words, ensuring more varied and interesting responses.

These parameters help fine-tune the output, making AI models more versatile and effective.
