4 options on the table for CMMC
Federal News Network reports that DoD's own CMMC review lays out options for moving forward. They include restarting Phase 2 with a smaller group of contractors, moving to NIST SP 800-171 Rev 3, fixing inconsistent CUI marking, and giving contractors more time to close POA&M items.
None of this is final yet. Today's rules haven't changed: if CUI comes through your contract, DFARS 7012 and the 110 NIST 800-171 controls still apply.
The contractors who keep working on their controls now will be ready whichever way it goes.
