Every website relies on a complex combination of domains, DNS records, SSL certificates, hosting infrastructure, and web technologies. Yet obtaining a complete picture of how a domain is configured often requires jumping between multiple tools and services.
A typical investigation might involve checking WHOIS information on one website, DNS records on another, SSL certificate details somewhere else, and security configurations through separate scanners. This fragmented workflow can be time-consuming and inefficient.
To solve this problem, I built NP Radar, a free domain intelligence platform designed specifically for Nepal's .np domain ecosystem.
Why I Built NP Radar
As someone interested in web development and cybersecurity, I frequently needed to analyze domains for learning, research, and troubleshooting.
However, I found myself repeatedly switching between different tools to gather information such as:
- WHOIS records
- DNS configurations
- SSL certificate details
- Hosting provider information
- Security settings
- Website technologies
Most existing tools focus on a single aspect of domain analysis, and very few provide insights tailored specifically to Nepal's internet ecosystem.
I wanted a platform that could bring all of this information together in a single place while providing Nepal-specific intelligence that global tools often overlook.
That idea became NP Radar.
What is NP Radar?
NP Radar is a web-based platform that provides detailed intelligence about .np domains through a unified dashboard.
Users can enter a domain name and instantly access information related to registration, DNS records, SSL certificates, hosting providers, security posture, and website technologies.
The goal is simple:
Make domain intelligence more accessible, centralized, and useful for Nepal's growing internet ecosystem.
A Single Dashboard for Complete Domain Analysis
One of the biggest challenges when investigating a domain is connecting information from multiple sources.
NP Radar solves this by aggregating different layers of domain intelligence into a single report.
WHOIS Intelligence
Retrieve important registration information including:
- Registrar details
- Registration dates
- Domain status
- Nameservers
DNS Analysis
Inspect DNS configurations such as:
- A Records
- AAAA Records
- MX Records
- NS Records
- TXT Records
- CNAME Records
- SOA Records
SSL Certificate Inspection
Analyze SSL certificates and security status:
- Certificate issuer
- Validation status
- Expiration tracking
- Security grading
Nepali ISP Detection
One of NP Radar's unique capabilities is identifying hosting providers commonly used within Nepal.
Supported providers include:
- WorldLink
- Nepal Telecom (NTC)
- Vianet
- Subisu
- DishHome
- WebSurfer
- Classic Tech
- CG Net
Security Scoring
Domains are evaluated using several security indicators, including:
- HTTPS implementation
- DNSSEC configuration
- SPF records
- DMARC policies
- Security headers
Technology Detection
NP Radar can identify technologies powering a website, including:
- Content Management Systems (CMS)
- Web Servers
- Frameworks
- Analytics Platforms
- Content Delivery Networks (CDNs)
More Than a WHOIS Tool
While domain intelligence is the platform's core functionality, NP Radar also includes several additional tools.
Reverse IP Lookup
Discover domains hosted on the same IP address.
DNS Checker
Evaluate DNS configurations and identify potential issues.
Domain Comparison
Compare two domains side-by-side and analyze differences in infrastructure and security.
Domain Generator
Generate .np domain suggestions and ideas.
Bank Security Scorecard
Compare website security indicators across banking institutions.
Nepal Domain Statistics
Explore trends and insights related to Nepal's domain ecosystem.
All tools are available without registration and are designed to simplify technical analysis.
Understanding Nepal's Domain Ecosystem
Beyond analyzing individual domains, NP Radar aims to provide visibility into Nepal's broader internet infrastructure.
The platform includes statistical insights covering:
- Domain distribution by TLD
- SSL adoption rates
- DNSSEC implementation
- Hosting provider market share
- Average domain age
- Technology adoption patterns
These insights can help developers, researchers, students, and organizations better understand Nepal's digital landscape.
Who Can Benefit From NP Radar?
Developers
Understand DNS configurations, hosting environments, and technology stacks.
Cybersecurity Professionals
Evaluate security posture and identify potential weaknesses.
Students
Learn about DNS, SSL certificates, internet infrastructure, and cybersecurity concepts using real-world examples.
Businesses
Gain visibility into website security and infrastructure.
Researchers
Explore trends and statistics across Nepal's domain ecosystem.
Challenges During Development
Building NP Radar required combining data from multiple sources while presenting it in a simple and understandable interface.
Some challenges included:
- Aggregating information from different systems
- Designing a clean dashboard experience
- Creating meaningful security scoring metrics
- Identifying Nepal-specific hosting providers
- Presenting technical information in an accessible way
Balancing depth and simplicity was one of the most important design considerations throughout development.
What's Next?
NP Radar is still evolving, and there are many features planned for future releases.
Possible improvements include:
- Historical DNS tracking
- Domain monitoring
- Security alerts
- API access
- Expanded analytics
- Threat intelligence integration
- Additional research and statistics tools
The long-term vision is to create a comprehensive domain intelligence platform that supports Nepal's growing technology ecosystem.
