Your Morning in One Page: Teach ChatGPT to Brief You Before Coffee

Most mornings start the same way. You open your email, then your calendar, then your messages, then three more apps, and by the time you have actually looked at everything, half an hour is gone and you still are not sure what matters today.

Here is a better way. Teach ChatGPT to brief you in one page, every morning, before you touch anything else.

The problem is not information. It is sorting.

You do not need more updates. You need someone to tell you which three things matter today, what can wait, and what you should ignore completely. That is exactly what a morning brief does.

It takes everything competing for your attention and turns it into one short page: today at a glance.

The free template

Copy this, paste it into ChatGPT, and fill in the brackets. It takes about two minutes.

Every morning, brief me in one page. Here is my day:

Overnight messages: [paste them, or write "none"]
Calendar today: [paste today's events]
Open jobs: [list what is unfinished]

Give me:

  1. My top 3 priorities today, in order, with one sentence each on why
  2. Anything that can wait until tomorrow, and why
  3. One thing I should ignore completely today
  4. The single first action I should take, and how long it takes

Keep it under 200 words. No fluff, no motivational talk, just the brief.

That is it. One page, one read, and you know your day.

Why it works

Three reasons.

First, it forces a decision. A normal to-do list grows forever because nothing on it ever gets ranked. The brief makes ChatGPT rank, and ranking is the whole job.

Second, it gives you permission to ignore things. Most mornings are derailed by something that felt urgent but was not. A brief that names the one thing to ignore is worth more than a brief that lists twenty things to do.

Third, it is repeatable. Save the template, paste in tomorrow's calendar and messages, and you get tomorrow's brief. Same format every day means you stop rethinking your mornings and start working them.

Make it yours

Once the basic version works, add one line that fits your life:

  • Shop owners: "Flag any customer message that needs a reply today."
  • Parents: "Flag anything involving school times or pickups first."
  • Freelancers: "Flag anything a client is waiting on before anything internal."

One personal line turns a generic brief into your brief.

Try it tomorrow morning

Do not buy anything. Do not install anything. Just try the template once, tomorrow, before you open your apps the usual way. If your morning feels calmer and shorter, keep it. That is the whole test.
