Hi everyone! I recently launched conferCal, a conference calendar for developers and other people in tech.

oh this is cool! I'd love to see filters for open (or not-yet-closed) CFPs where that information is available.
This is something I’ve been thinking about adding! It’s good to hear someone else suggest. Thank you!
This is super thoroughly done. It's also the kind of project with a lot of little details which will continuously need refinement and persistence. It's most useful if enough people think of it as a trustworthy part of their routine so they keep coming back. It takes time to reach that place and this is a great start.
You said it perfectly Ben. And that’s exactly what I’m hoping for. Thank you!
This is great, thanks for making it!
Thank you!
This is really really awesome.
If possible, I would love to see Taiwan not listed as a region of China. It's a controversial topic but something I'm really passionate about bringing awareness to.
Thank you and sure! Should it be a country instead?
Yes, please!
Ok will do! Thanks for bringing it to my attention!
Very nice product! It was hard for me to find conferences, I used to miss them happening just because I didn't know they were happening.
P.S. I tried to subscribe, but I think it didn't work. Clicking on "subscribe" button after filling all the fields does nothing. Used the site from the smartphone. Would be happy to get emails once it's fixed:)
Thanks for the heads up! Just to confirm whether or not it went through, can you check your email to see if you received anything?
Nothing in the email so far, not in spam as well.
Weird...I tested it and it works for me :( Can you give it one more shot? Shoot me an email (kim@madebybourn.com) if it doesn't work and let me know what happens. 🙏
Great idea, I hope you can get more exposure as it's a great tool. Couple of small issues, the filters are lost when changing the main category, and the region filter for the UK has some odd entries. I'd be happy to help if you want it
Thank you! Good point! I didn't build that in actually so I'll add that to my list.
What are the issues with the UK? Shoot me an email at kim@madebybourn.com if you don't want to fill the feed here.
Ok I've sent an email
Fantastic! Being in IT,I'm always trying to stay on top of all the conferences related to my field. Any chance we could get a Technology conferences section? I've got a great running list if needed. And of course, thanks for this!
Thanks for the suggestion! Do you mean adding "Information Technology" as a topic? Would love to get that list to jumpstart it if added. Shoot me an email at kim@madebybourn.com. Thanks in advance!!
Yeah. I'll email you right now. Thanks!
Hey, this is really cool, and I'm going to use it furthermore. One thing that I was missing was the possibility to filter not by country but by continent. E.g. being German, I'd be willing to travel to most European countries, but probably not across the pond. :)
Thanks for the suggestion! You're not the first to ask so I'll add it to my list. :)
Any chance we could get a category for "SRE / DevOps" or something similar? There are some great conferences like Monitorama (monitorama.com/) and SRECon (usenix.org/conference/srecon18amer...) which don't appear to have a good category in the current list.
Thanks!
There's a topic under Code for DevOps right now. I'll add those conferences to the list :)
Oh cool! Small piece of feedback: it wasn't obvious to me that the "topics" menu was scrollable. When I expanded it, I didn't see DevOps because it was outside the scroll area.
This is very cool. Keep up the great work. As someone who runs a ton of online events, it would be cool if you supported online conferences. Right now it looks like you have to choose a location.
Thank you! "Online" is available as an option actually! If adding a conference, you just pick "Online" from the country list and write "Online" for the city.
Oh. Interesting. That is great (though perhaps not very obvious). I tried it out and one weird thing was that it did still seem to require a city even though it was now specified as online.
Thank you! That's superb! I will add it to my bookmarks!
p.s. Can we change "Kiev" to "Kyiv" (this is correct variant most publishers ignore)?
Thanks for the heads up! I had no idea! Fixing it now.
Thank you!)
Is it possible that the filter values persist even if the category is changed?
Steps:
Right now it resets the filter values but realistically I'm looking for the same type of conference across those categories.
Lovely tool btw, thank you. :)
Thanks for the suggestion! Yup, It's on my list to fix this week :)
This is really really nice
Thank you!
Just twitted it! great work!
Thank you!
Can't say how many times I've been annoyed by the cost of a conference I was super interested in. Glad someone took action! This is great!
I understand the sentiment completely. Glad you find it useful! :)
Nice idea and good website (I love the design) but I think about two conf: FOSDEM (Open-source) and PgDay (RDBMS confs). Maybe theses topics are missing :)
Thanks for the suggestion! Open-source is a good one actually! I'll see if I can round up a few. If so, I'll add the topic. Otherwise, this would be fine under General for now.
Is there a way to contribute? I would love to help.
Thanks for asking! I'll shoot you an email :)
This is great! Awesome!
Thank you!
Great idea, I always thought the tech conference info was scattered. Such a terrific design too!
Thank you!!
Very cool! Nice job and idea!
Thank you!
Great work!
Thank you!
This project looks so cool… Congrats!
Thank you!
