Will OpenAI be blocked in the EU?

Image description
Italy has blocked the use of ChatGPT, an artificial intelligence tool, for not respecting data protection legislation and minors' access to content.

Although this measure only affects Italian companies, there are fears that it could limit their access to technologies that will drive their growth and competitiveness in the global market in the future.

Some experts believe that governments should incentivize the use of innovative technologies in production processes instead of hindering innovation, and work together to create regulatory frameworks that allow the advancement of artificial intelligence in a responsible and safe manner.

But that's not all.

Other EU countries have also announced that they believe OpenAI is in breach of EU regulations in terms of data protection.

Is this true? I don't know, I don't care either, everyone has to be aware of the data they share. Isn't it a bit absurd that they protect us from something we already know and choose to use? Are they protecting us from ourselves?
For example Germany and Spain have announced that they believe that OpenAI does not comply with European regulations, just like the Italian state said.
Will Germany and Spain block access to OpenAI?

At least there could be a workaround to bypass the block, but still, let's hope it doesn't happen, as not everyone will be able to bypass the restriction legally, especially enterprises.
What could be the economic cost of not having access to the world's most advanced commercially available AI tool? Best not to think about it.
