I built a $20 AI coding CLI with around $400 in estimated model usage. Sounds crazy, right?

$20 a month for roughly $400 in estimated model-equivalent usage.

Yeah, I know how that sounds.

That's what I'm trying to offer with LucentraCode.

I've been working on this CLI because I genuinely don't understand why developers should have to juggle multiple expensive subscriptions just to use their favorite AI models.

You pay $20 here, another $20 somewhere else, maybe upgrade to a $100 plan, and somehow you're still worrying about usage limits halfway through a project.

It gets ridiculous.

So I built LucentraCode around a pretty simple idea: one CLI, multiple leading AI models, and a lot more usage for your money.

The $20 plan is designed to offer around $400 in shared model-equivalent usage. That's an estimate based on our usage model, not $400 in cash or transferable API credits. There are still usage caps, and how far the allowance goes depends on which models you use.

I'm not claiming it's perfect. There are still things I'm improving, and honestly, building something affordable without compromising the experience has been one of the hardest parts.

But I want to reach a point where developers can just open their terminal, pick the model they want, and build without constantly thinking about another subscription.

I'm curious, how much are you guys actually spending on AI coding every month? $20, $100, $200, or eve
 n more?

And if you could change one thing about your current coding tools, what would it be?

LucentraCode - affordable CLI
