Meishi challenges Apple/Google: Open Source P2P E2EE Contacts

The problem
How many copies of your contact details currently exist? Who holds them? How are they used? We have lost control of our data, or rather, we never had it. Tech giants control billions of contact databases. Governments are developing centralized digital identities (EUDI Wallet EU in 2026). We suffer from data breaches, spam, and a total lack of control.

The solution
P2P + E2EE architecture Meishi reverses the paradigm. When you update your digital profile, all your contacts automatically receive the update. You remain in control: you grant, modify, or revoke access whenever you want.

Technical stack:
• P2P + E2EE with Signal Protocol for private data
• Zero-knowledge: servers with no access to private data
• Open source (synchronization engine + iOS/Android client)
• Hybrid: client-server only for public data, P2P for everything else

What sets us apart from alternatives Unlike Google/Apple Contacts, LinkedIn, or Truecaller:
• Privacy by design: no tracking, no data sales
• Automatic synchronization: automatic updates for all contacts
• Total control: grant/revoke access in real time
• GDPR compliant: API with explicit opt-in
• Open source: verifiable synchronization engine and client application

The manifesto
https://github.com/Meishiapp/docs/blob/main/Meishi_Manifesto_EN.md
Excerpt from our manifesto: "Whoever controls the data is in charge. The value of data lies not in its possession, but in its veracity, and only its rightful owner can guarantee its authenticity through total control. "
This project is not for everyone. It is for those who want to regain control of their digital identity.
