CrowdStrike has announced the expansion of its Falcon for XIoT platform to include dedicated protection for medical devices in healthcare settings. This move responds to a surge in interactive intrusion campaigns against the healthcare sector, which has seen over 750 reported breaches since early 2026. By focusing on Internet of Medical Things (IoMT), the solution aims to secure critical assets such as infusion pumps and imaging tools that are often legacy systems and highly vulnerable.
The platform provides native visibility into devices using clinical protocols like DICOM and HL7, allowing for automated inventory and anomaly detection. This visibility helps healthcare organizations identify unsupported assets and integrate them into existing security workflows. The cloud-native Falcon sensor monitors protocol communications to block malicious behavior, ensuring that patient care remains uninterrupted by cyber threats.
